NCTC Awarded Sharjah International Airport New Runway at 250m Separation Civil Works

National Contracting (NCTC) was awarded the civil works for the new runway at Sharjah International Airport, built at a 250m separation, by the Sharjah International Airport Authority. The scope of work comprised drainage works, earthworks, pavement marking, surface protection to the runway strip, communication network installation, and the construction of two sub-station buildings. Power systems covered main and standby infrastructure with 11kV distribution, generators, fuel storage, and lightning protection. The runway was opened for public use in October 2014, with the first landing performed by the private aircraft of His Highness Sultan Bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah.
